AUDITIONS FOR EMYC 2020
Audition Date: Wednesday, June 3, 2020 - 4:30-6:30PM
May 29, 2020: Update
This year, we are hosting auditions on Zoom!
We have three time slots left: 6:10, 6:20 & 6:30pm. Email us today to claim your spot!
Meeting link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86192407009?pwd=djlJWmtkYmoxSHRyM08zeENJejNrdz09
Meeting ID: 861 9240 7009
Password: 1hbFz8
THINGS TO NOTE:
1) No account is required for accessing the meeting link, however you do need to have the app downloaded on the device that you will be auditioning with. Please have this ready to go before your time slot!
2) Have 1 piece of choice prepared to sing for us.
You may use accompaniment if you like, but we are unable to provide that.
If someone in your home would like to play piano/guitar/other for you, that is great - as long as we can clearly hear your singing voice.
If you would like to have a second device handy with a karaoke track to sing along to - that's great too.
Again, we just need to clearly hear your singing voice over the accompaniment. Singing a cappella is totally great, as well.
3) You will be asked to do some Sight Singing.
Below you will find 2 Sight Singing pages, though technically they aren't sight singing pages as now you have a chance to study them :)
Please choose ONE line total from either Sight Reading page - practice all you want, and be prepared to sing it for us at your audition.
(We usually suggest the syllable "doo", but if you have a different favourite syllable - go for it!)

- The meeting ID and a Password is there in case the link isn't working. If this happens to you, just type the ID and Password in manually on the Zoom "Join a Meeting" page.
- Be prepared to hang out in the zoom "waiting room" until we let you in. If you sign in just a few minutes before your timeslot, we will see that you are there and let you in as soon as we are ready.

4) That will be the extent of your audition!
Other years, we do some scales, and a repeat-back exercise, but this year - this is it! We may ask you a few questions about yourself, but they won't be complicated.
Once we have gone through all the auditions, we will chat again as a whole committee, and you can expect a follow up email by the end of next week.
